For the love of small villages – Lazanias 9 Nov.

There are some tiny and largely abandoned villages that present themselves like jewels to the Strollers who include them in their itinerary. Such was the case of Lazanias on 9 November, adding an extra sparkle to our day. A rumour that the village created the dish that the Venetian conquerors of Cyprus loved and adopted, spreading lasagne to the world, remains unchecked. Everyone aspires to a special day. With the Cyprus Strollers this is closer than you may think. It may consist of a day’s forest escape and a very rich lunch reward, with spirited conversations. A very large gathering of Strollers, of all age groups and 11 nationalities walked cheerfully the 2 hikes on Troodos on 26 October. Attention focused on the schoolchildren, who won our applause, and equally on the parents who showed them that life is more entertaining in nature. Compliments to Nicoletta for the photos. 2 Waterfalls to Fall in Love with – Platres 18 Oct.

One village featuring 2 waterfalls attracted a lovely gathering of Strollers on 18 October; the weather was optimal, and the spirits rose high, as evidenced by the quality of conversations during hiking and over lunch. Splendid party of 10 Nationalities – 12 Oct.

Hiking Made Pleasant Resumes

While life appears burdened with more and more hardships, isn’t it comforting that some things remain unchanged? Among them, elements which characterize the Cyprus Strollers as a unique hiking club:

Sweet Season end – Platania 1 June

On 1st June the Club completed 11 years of hiking and a worthy gathering of Strollers from 8 nationalities enjoyed the hike and the lunch treat, with a delicious cake wrapping Season 22 up. Compliments to Michael, Nicos, Elena, Maria and Petros for the photos. Best wishes for the summer to all.
